Valleyschwag picks winners! Or do winners pick Valleyschwag?
We were excited to see that two of our favorite video companies had big news this week. Jumpcut, who co-hosted the Hoedown and sent out a big load of shirts in VS3, announced their sale to Yahoo this week. On the same day VideoEgg, known for their simple video upload capabilities and cool horse shirts in VS4, announced that they raised $12 million from the Starbucks dude. If Zooomr goes we’ll have a near perfect record….
Now, we’re not saying that sending out shirts in Valleyschag will get you millions of dollars or make Yahoo buy your company. We’re just pointing out that it keeps happening.

That’s good news and all, so congratulations to you.
However, I’m still a bit in the dark over the new payment methods. I got an email from Paypal today saying that my payment was bounced for not being backed by a credit card. I understand the need for security and so on, but my PP account is registered to my actual bank account as the main source of funds! So is there another way I can hook up for more Schwag, or is a Brit with no credit cards going to be left out in the cold? That would suck, but I’ll understand if that’s the way it has to be. But I imagine there must be a few other folk in similar positions, so maybe it’s time to clue the people in to the new system?
Peace…

Updates would be nice - to the schwag I mean. I’m glad you guys took a break, and are able to eat at some cool places in sunny California, and that some of the schwag providers are doing well, but how about an update on the payment methods, VS5, and maybe some videos or pics or something? It’s been really dead around here, and I actually completely forgot about VS for a few weeks. That can’t be good.

You’re both right–we haven’t talked much about what’s happening with the payment system, and transition lately. One reason for this is that the new merchant account we were in the process of setting up with since July announced a few weeks ago that they wouldn’t allow us to ship internationally–contradicting their earlier statements. We’ve been working on a final resolution that will allow us to go back to the fun stuff once and for all.
It’s going to get louder around here in the coming days. Don’t worry–we’re still here, and thinking of you.

Maybe you guys should just officially stop the service for now until you get it figured out and then do a “Grand Reopening” after the first of the year.

About a month ago my credit card expired on PayPal (it is now updated) but when this happened it appeared my membership in VS was terminated. Now I see I can’t “rejoin”. GRRRRR…
Hopefully I can get back in before VS5 ships!

I need to figure out a way to get me one of those cool Zooomr shirts. I missed out the first time around. Hah!

Hi, I got credited for 2 schwags, then I was just (2 days ago) billed again. So, paid for 4 and got 3. Are we good or is someone flattening the tires on my funmobile? Where’s my stuff?!?

The new general store idea doesn’t please me, nor does the selling of ‘Good schwag’ - The schwag of the month club was a nice idea while it lasted.

Who wants to be bought by Yahoo? Look what they did to Launchcast, and what is happening at Flickr.
