Instructions for remote Hoedown-ing
We’re happy to say that over a hundred people have RSVP’d for joining us from around the world for our Hoedown. Now how the heck are we going to do this?
We thought about doing live multi-directional video installations, but when did that ever work? Instead, we’re going to keep this scrappy and low-fi. One of our featured companies, Jumpcut, is going to support this virtual party alive by enabling us to share (and remix!) our videos. Flickr will be our repository for tagged photos. We’re also opening an IRC channel for us all to chat with each other from wherever we are. We’ll soon start uploading photos and videos so we can experience everything we’re collectively experiencing.
Here’s how to join the fun:

- Jumpcut:
- add videos in the group “Do you schwag”
- View videos here
- Flickr
- Tag your photos “vshoedown”

The party looked AMAZING guys. Glad I could participate in the video feed and chat on IRC with you! It was a blast.
By request, they also let me and everyone else (Kat, Doug, and I) ride the horse. haha.

So glad you guys enjoyed it. Was really fun chatting with you Chad, Kat and mjlambie. You guys ROCK! Kat, I’m sorry you weren’t there at the end when I was holding court with a half dozen adorable german guys. My ripped up Rubyred Labs tee might have had a little something to do with all the attention.
Next time ya’ll have to make it out here in person!

Well, I totally screwed up workin out the time difference for some reason… Though it was mid day (when I’m at work), something else told he it’s four in the morning?!?! (maybe went forward instead of back), hence totally missed the live shenanigans.
Looks like you guys had a lot of fun from the pics.

I was unable to get the chat working. My computer’s fault most likely. Oh well, it looks like it was an awesome party from the videos. I want to ride the horse! Once again VS is great! Good job guys (and girls).

Well, guess I am not geeky enough
Never used IRC (do not particulartly like chatting and when I do use MSN) and did not care to install it and find out how it works just after I woke up in the morning.
Enjoyed the videos/photos though, but that was not really Web2.0 interactive.
