Valleyschwag 3: Hoedown!

hoedown.gif

After two issues of wrapping our packages in stenciled burlap–culminating in the unforgettable burlap re-use contest–we changed things up this month. We decided to wrap this month’s package in a collectible poster. The idea was to commission some nifty artwork to make unwrapping the package as fun as it had been with the burlap (but a lot less messy!). We worked with a fantastic San Francisco artist named Paul Hayes, and made it into a big ol’ event poster.

RiderIndeed, it’s one giant invitation to our very own Hoedown party. Grab yer pardner and get on over to RSVP now, if you haven’t already. For those of you who aren’t within driving distance of San Francisco, link in from wherever you are and we’ll party together with all the sound, vision and pyrotechnics that our “perpetual beta” tech affords. More details of the festivities will follow.

Anyhow, we were all set to wrap the packages inside the poster until we actually got them back from the printer. We immediately hung one on our wall, and everyone in the office gathered around, ooh-ing and ah-ing like it was a Picaso. Indeed, it looked even better than we’d hoped. We wrapped one of the schwag packages in a poster to see how it looked. It didn’t look bad bundled up like this, but when we unwrapped the poster we could see clearly that someone would never want to hang it’s now crinkled surface on their wall.

As a result, subscribers to this month’s issue will find their Hoedown posters carefully folded rather than wrapping their schwag, preserving them for whatever purposes they wish, be they good or evil.

NOTE: A few subscribers have mentioned they didn’t receive a poster in their package. Send an email to support@valleyschwag.com and we’ll make sure this injustice is remedied.

I can’t get wufoo to open either. I just read about it on Techcrunch, but I can’t access the site.
Maybe they got to much attention?

Darn it about Wufoo vs. the TechCrunch Effect. It looks like it’s back up now, however. Thanks for the heads up.

Got VS3 in the mail ten minutes ago.
    Wow.

My boys and I just finished watching some pre-publicity Superman thing on A&E and as the credits rolled, I opened the package. Lo and behold…two lovely Superman cookies sat within.
I admire your sense of timing.

Really cool stuff in the bundle this time around, wish I lived close for the party.
    Thanks.
