Burlap Re-use Contest Winner
Thanks so much to all of you who sent in entries for the Burlap Re-use Contest. Your creativity is as inspiring as your willingness to cause discomfort to your pets is disturbing.
No surprise here… the hands-down winner is Heather with her fabulous burlap horse. And extra kudos for sending us the original! Special prize coming your way.
Honorable mention to Glen for the Action Figure Bed Cover and Tijs for the iPod case. And we here at the ranch want to acknowledge the prolific output of Homard with the Skirt, Dog Cape and Wallpaper. A little something extra is going out to everyone who submitted an entry.
New contest will be announced soon…
Hugs ‘n’ Kisses,

Thanks so much. It was a ton of fun to make the horse for such appreciative recipients. You have a wonderful “thing” going and I for one appreciate the one-on-one attitude you all have!

I guess I might have had more of a chance of winning if my good looking face hadn’t been cropped from my Burlap Barbecue Bib entry! But then you’d have been hard pressed to know which one was me and which one was the horse! Well done artchick!

Good stuff - the horse was very nice.
As has been said many times before, but can never be said enough, thanks for all you do. This has been a great idea that has worked because you guys are so great at posting info and keeping it fun and real. Kudos to you guys for making this a fun place to go, and for all the little “bonuses” you provide.
Cheers,
MD

[…] I’m still a subscriber to Valleyschwag, and should be receiving my second Schwag bundle any day now (the 3rd overall installment from the VS crew). What’s weird is, while I’m very eagerly anticipating this last month’s bundle, I’m having more fun interacting on their blog and reading all the fun and funny posts they make. They are so eager to provide support to their subscribers that it’s a definite breath of fresh air (yeah yeah, I know the cliche is horrible, but it’s true) to a business world that often forgets about the people that keep it going. Simply being nice, answering every question from customers, and providing unexpected little bonuses and tibdits should not be so rare, but indeed it is. […]

Yay, I got my fancy schwag today bit it seems like I won’t be doing any thinking with the re-use of that brown paper bag that was found inside the USPS package… Is it the new standard instead of the burlap? I have to say I was a bit disappointed for the packing…

This month’s packaging took a roundabout course which we’ll write about soon, once a few more people get their schwag. Basically we wanted to wrap them in some cool paper so we had something custom printed, then we couldn’t stand the idea of crumpling the cool print by wrapping the stuff inside it. We’re happy with the way things came out, though the burlap is hard act to follow.

[…] Low-tech USB case made from the packing string. It’s no horse, but I dig it. […]

Was the “special prize” in with this month’s schwackage?
Thanks!
